Privacy Policy
Effective June 2026.
Haru is a diary-based learning product, so it handles text you write yourself. This page explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
What we collect
- Account information — your email and the sign-in provider you use, used to create and secure your account.
- Diary content — the entries you write, which Haru turns into Korean Stories and learning content.
- Learning data — generated Stories, grammar, vocabulary, phrases, practice, and your learning progress.
- Voice recordings — only if you choose the optional voice-clone feature, used to read your Korean Stories in your voice.
- Usage and device data — basic technical information needed to run the service reliably.
How we use it
We use your data to generate your Korean learning content, run and secure the service, process subscriptions, and improve how Haru works. We do not sell your personal data.
Third parties we rely on
To provide the service, Haru shares the minimum data needed with:
- Sign-in — Google and Apple, for authentication.
- Payments — Paddle on the web and the Apple App Store or Google Play in the apps. Haru does not store full card details.
- AI, translation, image, and voice services — used only for the product actions you request and subject to Haru's backend controls.
Storage, retention, and your rights
Your account and learning data are kept while your account is active. You can request access to, export of, or deletion of your data at any time — see Account deletion. Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, refunds, tax, or legal compliance.

Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
